Facilities With Cancer, Pediatric Programs More Likely Than Those Focusing On Mental Health, Substance Use To Receive Donations

Community hospitals and hospital programs that focus on mental health or substance ill-use treatment are less liable to to receive donations than more renowned facilities or programs with “the prevalent appeal of cancer or pediatrics,” the New York Times reports. Last year, hospitals and other trim care organizations received a record $7 billion in donations, all round 60% of which came from individuals, according to the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy.
